Drowning Indonesia:

You guys must say that it's impossible. Maybe for now, but you guys must realize that this is in fact REAL and MAY HAPPEN in the future! How can it happen? We may be bored of hearing "Global Warming this." and "Global Warming that...". But behind all those difficult words and scientific terms, the effects of global warming should be on top of our list of the things we must be aware of. If it isn't a thing we should be aware of, why did representatives from 189 nations fly all the way to Bali to take part in the International Climate Change Conference to talk all about that "boring" topic?

How? When global warming, which means the increase in global temperature, occurs, the temperature of the ocean's surface also increases. Based on the laws of science, the volume of liquid materials expands following the increase of temperature. This also happens with sea water. The hotter the word gets, the higher sea water becomes. This excludes all the polar ice that is already melting as we speak when this happens. The height of the sea has increased globally about 10 - 25 centimeters in the 20th century. Scientists predict an increase for about 9 to 88 centimeters during the 21st century. The change in sea water height affects all aspects of our everyday lives. A 100 centimeters increase will drown 6% of Netherlands, 17,5% of Bangladesh, and many islands in Indonesia. Now, maybe Indonesia hasn't drowned yet, we ONLY have 2 metres flood all across the nation. Must you guys wait until Indonesia already drowns to something about this? How can you do something when you're already drowning with our beloved country?

So what we can do now? Simple. Just recycle reuse and reduce. Example, Reduce. Why should we scrawl on pieces on paper when we don't have to? Imagine how many trees must be chopped down just for us to write useless things when those trees can in fact reduce the amount of CO2 in the air. CO2 causes the Green House Effect, the main cause of global warming.
